My name is Sebastian, and I’m from Germany. I’m a small indie developer who has loved playing Pokémon games and shiny hunting for many years. One problem I constantly ran into was manually counting resets during shiny hunts — it was tedious and easy to lose track.

So I started thinking about a solution and came up with the idea of automatically detecting and counting resets using text recognition on your phone. You simply place your phone in front of your console, and it counts your resets automatically. That’s all there is to it — simple and effortless. That’s how the Auto Shiny Counter app was created.

To make shiny hunting even better, we later developed a dedicated dongle that enhances the experience and works seamlessly with the app. It helps automate and streamline your setup so you can focus entirely on the hunt.
